An overview

All MC² programming is designed to stop the drop-out rate, which has been significant in most, if not all, of Connecticut's urban inner-city areas. These programs assist each student to establish long-term goals and success measurements by emphasizing a common denominator, namely understanding the business and finance side of any and all operations (we call it “financial literacy”). It is the goal of MC² programs to teach inner city youth how Wall Street and finance really work but introducing them to these concepts through idioms that they know and understand which can include music, dance, art, or other personal interests.

Emphasis is placed on “how money works” and on how to “earn it honestly.” CareerOne students are matched with employers to gain “on the job” insight and training. College campus locations will be used for after-school and Saturday sessions as frequently as possible. Special field trips are an important aspect of all courses.

MC² has targeted 45+ Connecticut urban areas where programming of this nature is most needed. The program will be phased in from region to region as sufficient funding becomes available.

All programs depend upon the emotional support and involvement of parents and guardians as their child embarks on any of these educational journeys. Mini PTA's or PTO's will play a vital role in each student’s success.
